There's an ongoing problem with gender-based violence in Australia. But where the term "gender-based violence" is concerned, one could easily think this means men against women. No. It's actually the other way around. All boys and men of Australian origin and descent are being told every day that their existence, way of thinking, and even their behaviour are "problematic", even if they haven't actively done anything wrong. But what's motivating this attempt to eliminate the "manosphere"?
Greek-Australian activist Chanel Contos was invited to speak at the National Press Club (NPC) on Wednesday. Every month or so, a popular figure from within the Australian community is invited to attend the NPC and address the media, taking questions from journalists of various publications.
This time, it was the 28-year-old activist's turn to take the stage. She took advantage of the opportunity presented to her to target both young boys and social media platforms - more specifically, Elon Musk and X, although she didn't name it outright. She said that men are being fed "misogynistic content" on social media platforms, which then makes them turn to "extremism" and "violence against women," and called for the government to step in and "do more" to stop that content from reaching those boys. She called for an "opt-in algorithm" to be implemented by all social media platforms so they could no longer automatically push content to users, and so users could be in complete control of what they see on their timeline instead.
Contos' speech at the NPC came following multiple reports by the mainstream media that teachers are "losing control" of young boys at schools and that "misogyny was rising at an alarming rate, especially in younger age groups." As if that wasn't enough, a new report from the University of Melbourne found that misogyny was the "main course of violent extremism", labelling it a "national security threat" and going as far as calling for the Australian Security and Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) to "recognise the matter as a form of violent extremism". All this began after a stripper hired by five popular athletes claimed that her "boundaries" had been violated, and had sought legal counsel.
Teaching boys they shouldn't be boys!
Is there a misogyny problem in Australia? Of course there is! When the nation's own Prime Minister goes on a podcast to publicly objectify one of the greatest artists in its history (Kylie Minogue), then something ain't quite right! But this isn't about "teaching respect to our boys" or promoting respect on equal terms. No. If you dig a little deeper, this seems more like trying to root out something before it spreads.
Australian boys are being taught from a very young age that there's something fundamentally wrong with them and that they need to change their behaviour without having done anything wrong. The school curriculum for Year 8 and kids as young as 10 in New South Wales features the Respectful Relationships program, a new initiative meant to "promote equality". But it doesn't. The language used in this curriculum not only shames boys, but purposely makes them feel as though they have done something wrong that they need to be held accountable for. It features a list of terms that the kids are made to learn and understand - terms like "patriarchy", "bodily autonomy", "slut shaming", "misogyny", etc. And it tells them that they not only need to drop these "shackles" off of them, but they must also "call them out wherever they see them" so that "humanity may progress".
Again, this is what the program looks like in NSW. I have no idea what they're teaching kids in places like Melbourne, which is traditionally more liberal and progressive.
It's great that the Labor government is addressing this misogynistic plague; truly it is! But perhaps, instead of preaching to the young boys, putting them down or telling them they're wrong for being "part of the patriarchy", maybe they should search for the causes behind this sudden uptick in "violent extremism" among people their age - assuming it even exists!
Forcefully creating a gender imbalance
In recent years, Australian men - more specifically, Australian men of British origin, because these days it's becoming more difficult to even define what an Australian is! - are finding it extremely difficult to find employment. Companies are forcefully pushing them out of the workforce, opting instead to fill the "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" quota set by the Human Rights Commission with women and people of colour. I would use statistics to prove this, but sadly, they no longer exist because the Commission made sure to cover its tracks by making it illegal to request the ethnicity of a company's employees. People from India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the Pacific Islands, China, etc are taking up all available employment positions, as White Australian men are left suffering under the rising cost of living pressures.
This has naturally created an imbalance of power between the genders. While companies and governments pat themselves on the back about "women in the workforce" and "equality for all", all they've really done is provide comfortable office jobs for women with multiple meetings and endless lunch breaks, as men continue to do the heavy lifting in areas like construction and plumbing. And even if a woman chooses to work in an area like construction, you're more likely to see her holding a sign telling cars to "slow down", rather than doing any of the real work.
Even in areas such as the Federal Police or the Defence Force, the recruitment process favours those from diverse backgrounds or genders. And by "diverse genders", I don't just mean women. I mean anyone under the LGBTQIA2S+ banner who keeps coming up with a new term for their mental health issues, pushing it on the rest of society. And they all get more space in our police forces than Australian men, the ones who can actually keep us safe. The government is doing everything it can so that the people - at least the regular-thinking people - can feel as unsafe as possible.
The dubious case of Ben Roberts-Smith
And if you think that's an exaggeration, then it's worth mentioning the Ben Roberts-Smith incident. Ben Roberts-Smith was an Australian military chief during the deployment of the Special Forces in Afghanistan, and one of the country's most decorated soldiers. He was an icon to all Australian boys - or at least those of British descent. His service to the country should've been unquestionable. And yet, the Labor government spent millions investigating the actions of both Roberts-Smith and several other military men (all White, by chance!), whose crimes include "killing unarmed civilians".
Meanwhile, according to reports from the ground, those "civilians" include suicide bombers as young as 13! Following an investigation, Roberts-Smith has been placed under arrest and is not permitted to leave his home state of Queensland for killing the enemies of Australia. This goose chase is most likely part of the government's coordinated attack on the White male stereotype.
Because in the face of Ben Roberts-Smith, the Australian media did not see a hero. They saw another angry white bloke who "lashed out" at whoever was in front of them. Another problematic figure that needed fixing. Another part of the "male violence epidemic" that Australia is up against, yet can never seem to get rid of. And that's the face the media showed to the public.
The hidden issues no one wants you to know about
Australia is facing a domestic violence (DV) issue; that's not to be argued. Hundreds of thousands of frustrated men lash out at their partners - both physically and emotionally - causing irreparable harm or even death in some cases. Last year alone, 58 women were killed in DV incidents, while over a hundred thousand made reports of falling victim to abuse. The real figure is unknown. The government has addressed these issues, investing over four billion dollars into combating domestic violence.
But these reports are dangerously one-sided and don't paint the whole picture. Even though men are the main perpetrators of domestic abuse, they also fall victim to it, with one in 14 reportedly being physically assaulted by their girlfriend. And those are just the figures that have been reported, avoiding the social stigma that comes from a man making a report about being hurt by a woman.
Furthermore, as if being hurt by their loved ones wasn't enough, men in Australia continue to take their own lives at dramatic rates. Every year, at least 2,500 males in the country (according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics) commit suicide, showing an alarming trend that has yet to be properly addressed. The Labor government, and those who were in power before it, have done little to discover the root causes behind this tragedy and to stop Australian men from putting an end to their lives. Almost as if to say they benefit from it...
What are the options for young White boys in Australia?
But let's agree here, for argument's sake, with Ms Condos and her constituents that there's a misogyny issue going on in Australia and that it festers on social media. How could it not? When young boys are being told that there's something wrong with them and that they need to "stand up" for everyone else? When their own fathers are being pushed down by both the workforce and their wives/girlfirends? When their favorite athletes are constantly scrutinised wherever they go for any type of behavior that may be thought of as "misogynistic"? When their fellow men are either being killed by migrants who are then allowed to walk off with a slap on the wrist by the courts, or they're taking their own lives because they have nothing but bills in their lives? What type of outlet do these boys have? Or are they not allowed to have any outlets, out of fear of becoming "far-right extremists"?
It's not difficult to see that if anyone is pushing these boys towards the so-called "far-right", it's the system itself. The system that calls them "problematic" for being who they are. The system that won't allow them to have any space for themselves, with girls, bis, trans, and anyone else forcefully invading, taking over, and then shaping it as they see fit. What should we talk about first? Sports? Gaming? Gambling? Tech? Even politics! All spaces created by men that women wanted access to, then took over and claimed them as their own. And they created their own rules, which they then enforced on everyone, calling it "equality". Where are men supposed to go next to find some peace of mind?
Social media spaces ARE full of angry young men! Men who are fed up with women telling them they suck. That they're pedophiles, rapists, lazy, losers, incels, short, fat, and whatever else. Women who have such an overinflated ego that they think they deserve the world just for existing. And you know who gives them that ego boost? MEN!
Because despite everything, men still seek the companionship of women. But they're being deprived of it more and more every day, because women no longer need them around. Thanks to the rise of new social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitch, and, more predominantly, OnlyFans, young girls can easily make money from inexperienced teenage boys. So when it comes to physical intimacy, they choose to focus on a small number of men, limiting the options for the majority of other guys out there. This nightmarish scenario is what the Australian government is teaching to kids under the label of "bodily autonomy": that a girl has every right to promote her body on the internet in exchange for money and then have sex with only the most attractive and successful men out there. And all men need to respect that. The sexual frustration of young boys who can't compete is never taken into account, as they are dismissed and labeled by women as "incels" and "losers", in a situation they can do little to change.
So what other options are there for young White boys in Australia? They're wrong no matter what they do; the odds are stacked against them from the start (almost 50 percent of women in Australia have a Bachelor's degree or higher, compared to just 30 percent of men, and there are more women in higher education); they're told they need to "do more for others"; they're purposely being excluded from the workforce in favour of women and immigrants; they're being told they're "problematic", "violent", and now they're even being tagged as "extremists" so that their thought processes can be "corrected".
White male racism is running rampant in Australia, and it needs to stop!
While speaking on a podcast with Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, Ms Condos "jokingly" said, "...At what level do we say men aren't allowed to congregate in these numbers?" I don't know what she was trying to achieve with this cute little "joke", but even hinting at "congregations" sets an alarming precedent. Yet it's always funny that women in this country only feel comfortable using this sort of language when they refer to White Australians. If she were talking about Muslims or Jews, she would've already been on her knees issuing apologies.
The behaviour towards traditional White men by both the government and the media in Australia is disgusting. It is appalling. And it should never be considered acceptable. But it is all part of the Labor government's plan to label them as "dangerous" and "problematic" (as they do with anything on the right), so they can then push out their new laws to have them eliminated.
Elon Musk and X/Twitter have long been a thorn in the side of left-wing governments around the world, as the open-source platform allows people to express their thoughts and beliefs, and, more often than not, those thoughts run counter to the new world order they're trying to establish. The same, of course, can be said for the Australian Labor government that has imposed its policies on its people, creating further chaos and sowing division at the public's expense. So, by banning X as a "source of extremism", Labor can shut down all public discord and enforce its own plans without opposition.
That's what this is all about: control. Labor doesn't care about women. Labor doesn't care about men. Labor doesn't care about the Australian people who brought them to power. Labor cares only about one thing: enforcing the agenda agreed upon by the United Nations.
